Standard for Wireless Charging

There are five mainstream wireless charging standards: Qi standard, Power Matters Alliance (PMA) standard, Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) standard, iNPOFi technology, Wi-Po technology.

1.Qi standard

Qi is the "Wireless Charging" standard introduced by the Wireless Charging Consortium (WPC), the first standardization organization to promote wireless charging technology in the world. It has two characteristics of convenience and versatility. First of all, as long as the products of different brands have a Qi logo, they can be charged with Qi wireless chargers. Secondly, it overcomes the technical bottleneck of the "universality" of wireless charging. In the near future, mobile phones, cameras, computers and other products can be charged with Qi wireless chargers, providing possibilities for large-scale applications of wireless charging.

The mainstream wireless charging technology in the market mainly uses three methods, namely electromagnetic induction, radio waves, and resonance. Qi uses the most mainstream electromagnetic induction technology. In terms of technology application, Chinese companies have stood at the forefront of the wireless charging industry. It is reported that Qi's application products in China are mainly mobile phones. This is the first stage. It will be developed and applied to digital products of different categories or higher power in the future.

2.Power Matters Alliance standards

The Power Matters Alliance standard is initiated by Duracell Powermat, which is a joint venture between Procter & Gamble and wireless charging technology company Powermat. In addition, Powermat is one of the supporting members of the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) standard.

Already AT & T, Google and Starbucks have joined the PMA Alliance (abbreviation of Power Matters Alliance). The PMA Alliance is committed to creating wireless power standards for mobile phones and electronic devices that comply with the IEEE Association standards, and has a leading position in the field of wireless charging.

Duracell Powermat has introduced a WiCC charging card that uses the Power Matters Alliance standard. WiCC is one circle larger than SD card, with components such as coils and electrodes used for electromagnetic induction non-contact charging embedded. The thickness of the card is thin and can be used by inserting it next to the existing smart phone battery. Using this card can make a lot of portable The terminal easily supports non-contact charging.

3.A4WP standard

A4WP is the abbreviation of Alliance for Wireless Power standard. It was created by the wireless charging alliance jointly created by Qualcomm, Samsung, and Powermat. The alliance also includes members such as Ever Win Industries, Gill Industries, Peiker Acustic, and SK Telecom. The goal is to set technical standards and industry dialogue mechanisms for wireless charging devices for electronic products, including portable electronics and electric vehicles.

4.iNPOFi technology

iNPOFi ("invisible power field") is a new wireless charging technology. Its wireless charging series adopts intelligent electric transmission wireless charging technology, which has the characteristics of no radiation, high power conversion efficiency, and weak thermal effect.

Compared with other existing wireless charging technologies, iNPOFi intelligent radiation-free technology, iNPOFi has no radiation, uses the electric field pulse mode, and does not generate any radiation. The test results of China Telecommunication Technology Labs(CTTL) show that the added value of radiation is almost zero. In terms of high efficiency, the Labs also determined that the product of this technology has a charging transmission efficiency of more than 90%, which has completely changed the problem of low efficiency of traditional wireless charging up to 70%.

In terms of intelligent management, chip adaptation management technology is adopted, including: automatically turning on and off the charging process; automatically adapting the required voltage and current to manage the charging process to ensure higher charging efficiency; and a unified charging can be used Board, for any brand and model of electronic products, for safe, convenient and efficient charging. In terms of safety, it also takes into account the safety issues in various weak current charging, such as electrostatic ESD protection, anti-overcharge, anti-shock, etc., even if there is a problem with the power management of the powered device itself, it can be automatically blown through the inpofi chip Protect electronic equipment from damage.

It is worth mentioning that for smart device manufacturers, inpofi uses a very small chip as its core to achieve an ultra-miniaturized design. It is only 1/4 cents in size and can be easily integrated into any device. It can also be integrated into various forms of wearable devices. This is not possible with traditional electromagnetic products.

iNPOFi technology, as a new generation of wireless charging technology standard, is efficient, green, convenient and economical. The charging device using this technology includes two parts: a power transmitting device and a power receiving device. The size and thickness of the transmitting device are comparable to ordinary mobile phones. The receiving device is embedded in the protective cover of the mobile phone. The protective cover is placed on the mobile phone and charged flat on the transmitting device . You do not need to plug in any cables during the charging process. Relevant tests show that the electromagnetic radiation is zero during the charging process, and the energy efficiency conversion is 94.7%, which is close to wired charging. The charging device supports low-voltage power supply and is compatible with ordinary USB power supply. It realizes low-temperature charging and effectively guarantees the safety and life of the device and battery.

5.Wi-Po technology

Wi-Po technology is Wi-Po magnetic resonance wireless charging technology. It uses a high-frequency constant-amplitude alternating magnetic field generator to generate a resonant magnetic field of 6.78MHz to achieve a longer transmission distance.

The technology realizes communication control through Bluetooth 4.0, is safe and reliable, and can support one-to-many synchronous communication, and also has over temperature, over voltage, over current protection and foreign object detection functions. Because the carrier used in this technology is a space magnetic field, energy will not be emitted like electromagnetic waves, so it will not cause radiation damage to the human body.

Wi-Po magnetic resonance wireless charging can be applied to various scenarios such as mobile phones, computers, smart wearables, smart homes, medical equipment, and electric vehicles.
